The Research is Out There...

At Pro-Activity we believe in being on the cutting edge in all that we do.  We also believe in validating all that we do with research...preferably our own.

Surveys of 2,770 participants following Pro-Activity's Primary Prevention provide these results:

  • 91% believe their awareness about WMSDs was increased
  • 97% would recommend the awareness & education courses to a colleague
  • 95% were motivated to utilize some of the techniques provided to reduce their risk of a WMSD injury
  • 98% found the information practical and useful

Pro-Activity's Secondary Prevention outcomes:

  • On average, 63.54% of each participant's MSD problem was resolved
  • 37% Decrease in Pain associated with the MSD problem treated
  • 83.33% Decline in Days Lost Due to MSDs (including "non-occupational" MSDs)

Research studies taken from recent medical journals also prove the validity and effectiveness of Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Prevention efforts:

  • Following a physical therapist recommended company-wide exercise protocol the incidence rate of Cumulative Trauma Disease decreased by 37%, the incidence of Cumulative Trauma Syndrome decreased by 45.4% and Workers Compensation Losses decreased by 2.28% - Seradge 2001
  • The number of cases of upper extremity WMSDs decreased by 69% following a 3 year multi-component intervention program – Feuerstein 2000
  • A study conducted to measure the direct costs (MD visits, medication, workers compensation, lost wages, and the cost of intervention) associated with early intervention programs versus non-intervention shows on average it costs $12,721 for early intervention and $21,843 for non-intervention, a difference of $9,122 – Gethchel et al. 2003
